Used for rabbit food and litter. The cup has line markings starting at 1/4 cup, making it easy for us to moderate how much we pour out. Despite his best efforts, our rabbit has not been able to get the lid off even when he tips it over. The cap is definitely not spill proof or super secure, but the lid is on there firmly and the spout is angled so that not much comes out if the container is flipped on the long side. As an unexpected bonus, the spout is large enough to easily dispense pellets, but narrow enough that our rabbit cannot stick his head in (he's tried)
So my cat loves to knock over food containers. She can get into any space, on to any shelf, and knock down any bag or loosely sealed catfood container. In my quest to keep her from looking like a zeppelin I have been searching for the perfect container and this one fit the bill. These are sturdy, yet light weight. They fit conveniently in the pantry and the measuring cap fits securely on top. Just knocking the container over won't loosen the lid. A fall from a great height might cause the measuring cap to pop off but the cat hasn't tried that trick yet. These are also great for cereal, rice, macaroni, beans, whatever you need to store and pour.
These ended up being a lot smaller than I expected but that was more on me than the product description. It holds far less than what comes in a standard pet food bag so I have to refill it fairly often and still keep the bag (I intended to transfer all the contents of the bag over both for storage and for easy pouring). I do like the design that it has an opening for pouring and a lid that you can use to portion. I just pour directly into the bowl personally. And the fact that it’s a pack of two for the low price I great. I store it sideways in the cabinet and it doesn’t spill and seems to stay fresh. The lids are a tight seal but can lift easily when needed.
I got these because I just bought an enormous bag of (grain free alternate protein) cat crunchies and it would be absolutely impossible to use it for each bowl fill. The price is very reasonable. The containers are exactly the right size for dispensing cat food and so far it takes me less than 20 seconds to refresh the bowls. As an aside, I am not a fan of feeding dry food versus wet, but cats are grazers that eat multiple times a day and grain free dry is a good option if you have multiple cats. I alternate it with freeze dried raw nuggets, and this works perfectly as do these dispensers! They keep food fresh, they are well made, and I love the design.
I was looking for a smallish airtight container to store a few weeks of dog food for our two chihuahuas as a more convenient way of feeding them. I was looking for a balance between capacity and weight/ease of pouring and while these are nice containers, they need a handle to work for me.On the positive side, they do seem airtight and, while they are smaller than I visualized them to be, that would still be fine for our small dogs. The caps seem airtight and I havent had any issues with the colored top falling off. But the roundedness that I thought was to help grab and pour, is too large for my hand to grip well enough to securely hold and pour the contents single-handedly. Meanwhile, using two hands makes it hard to see the measurements to know when to stop pouring at the lowest fill line.It fell just short for me personally. This could work for some with larger hands, or who doesnt mind using two, but for me, a proper handle or better diameter for gripping would have made this a game-changer.
